The photo below represents a county record for Central New Mexico. I did not realize that I had gotten a photo of a Russet-tipped Clubtail until I got home and viewed the image on the computer, as all other clubtails that I saw at this locale were White-belted Ringtails (Erpetogomphus compositus).

Below is a series of "southwestern" or "desert" morph Russet-tipped Clubtails from the Rio Grande in Presidio Co, Texas, where I found this species to be extremely abundant. Note, the variation present in the coloration of the club.
