BLOOM PERIOD: May - June

HABITAT: A Mexican species planted around homes mostly in South Texas.

COMMENTS: Some say that this also could be O. englemanni subspecies.
What is this species? One site is calling this O. gomei ("Old Mexico Prickly Pear"). It is growing in yards throughout south Texas.
